Hello!! I hope this is the right outlet to male a request ☺️ Reader has gone out to look for a remedy on Aemond's eye pain. When she comes back, finds Aemond looking relieved she is safe and angry she made him worry. hehe
this is just the sweetest thing, she notices the small things, how he winces and attempts to hide the pain. she'd do anything to make it all go away <3
Remedy
PAIRING: Aemond Targaryen x fem!Reader.
WORDS: 1,212.
WARNINGS: fluff, soft!Aemond.
Although he tried to mask the pain, you were able to notice the small details. The way he would turn away from you, his hand swiftly massaging the temple near his lost eye, before resuming to whatever he was doing. You'd convinced yourself you'd even heard your husband awake, wincing from the sharp pain late at night. The site and wound had healed, now where his eye was held had been replaced by a glimmering sapphire gemstone.
It saddened you to see Aemond in such a state, trying to bury his own issues aside, for whatever reason he held. Perhaps he did not wish for others, especially you to consider him weak. Regardless, your conscious would not allow it to continue.
You'd enquired with the maesters if there was any type of remedy available to help rid Aemond of the pain. The only thing they'd known to be most effective and that they had supply of was milk of the poppy, although Aemond was never a fan of it. He hated how drowsy and lethargic it would make him feel, he avoided the cost of being inattentive.
The maesters suggested a herb that could be transformed into a topical ointment, that may help to numb the site without any severe side effects. Although much to your luck, they had just run out of the supply and were awaiting for stock to arrive, for the ingredient was hard to come by in Westeros. One of the younger maesters however, urged you to seek out certain markets in King's Landing that would sell the plant, for a pretty price.
"Not many people know, Princess, it is a very hard thing to come by. Although, these merchants are willing to sell for a decent cost."
"Then you shall take me to them!"
****
What felt like hours on end, the young master and yourself had searched countless markets and streets, without any luck. You'd left Aemond unaware of your errands, the Prince was busy training and attending council meetings, so you'd convinced yourself now was the time. However, much to your dismay, you hadn't realised how much time would be spent in search for such a delicate thing.
"There's a few more stalls I can take you to, Princess, but the hour is late. Mayhaps we try again another time."
"No, let us continue. There will be no need to come and go, just show me to the next seller, and be done with it today."
The stalls that you'd encountered, many merchants recognised you however none would question your whereabouts, for many feared the One-Eyed Prince himself. And as hopeful as they were to sell to a royal member, they were just as disappointed as you being unable to provide what you desired for.
As you walked towards the next stall, did you finally begin to realise how sore your feet and legs felt, walking through the narrow streets, the countless steps. But you know had the moment come, it would be worth it for Aemond.
And thankfully, your luck had finally struck!
“Here she is, the last of our supply. You just made it, it’s quite popular here in the city.”
The ecstatic look on your face, a wave of relief coarser through your body as you held a few of the branches of the beautiful white flower up. Examining it carefully, as though it was a dragon egg.
You’d paid the heavy price and returned back to the castle, the sun had just disappeared off in the horizon. It felt like a spring in each step, the exhaustion you’d felt only moments ago vanished, as you both made your way back up gleefully.
You thanked the young maester for his tremendous help, and would reward him with a high recommendation to his seniors. You’d spared only a few more minutes as he prepared a vial of the ointment for you, before you both departed your own ways.
As you made your way back into your chamber, Aemond sprung himself up, storming towards you.
“Where in the Seven Hells have you been, Y/N?! I sent Criston and his men to look for you across the castle and you were no where!”
“I-”
“You had me worrying sick, you understand-”
He snapped, cutting you off before you could explain yourself.
“Why would you leave without consoling me, and where did you go only to return so late in the hour. Are you okay, you feel cold, come closer to the fire.”
You could feel the tension in his grip, even though some relief came as he watched your face appear at the doorway, he was pacing himself, as he led you to where he sat before.
“Aemond, my dear, it’s alright. I went out to look for something with one of the maesters, I needed his guidance.”
“May the Gods be good, what took up your day so late into the night. Nothing happened, are you okay? You could’ve just sent him off yourself, or why didn’t you tell me so that I could have accompanied you! Seven Hells, Y/N don’t you ever disappear like that without a trace… I-I thought you left me.”
He knelt beside you, as you pulled his hand down to come face to face. One hand cupping his cheek, as your thumb gentry caressed his tender skin, whilst the other hand remained clinging to his.
“Aemond, don’t you ever think that. I would never do that to you, you know this… I just had to retrieve this for you. It’s for the pain, my dear. I know the eye troubles you, there’s no need to deny it.”
You’d let go of his face as your hand reached out to reveal a small glass vial with the ointment the young maester had created.
“What-” He softly uttered.
“Just apply a small, pea size amount around your eye my dear, just like so-“
You gently applied the ointment around his temple, and around the eye socket of his sapphire eye. He slightly winced as you first touched it, although began to settle. You glimpsed a faint look of surprise on his face, as you presumed the pain had finally gone.
“And it should ease the pain. Aemond, I hate seeing it trouble you, and I know how you dislike milk of the poppy so please-”
You slowly place the vial in his palm, as you close his fist up.
“Just use this for now.”
He remained silent for a short while, as he stood up again, walking towards the small mirror by the wardrobe. He observed the ointment had been perfectly rubbed in, and as he touched the area, he felt nothing, no more ache, no more of the dull, irritating pain that nagged at him.
He turned back towards you, you reaching him halfway as you closed in on each other.
“You are an angel if the Gods thought of me blessed enough to have you.”
His hands cupped your face, as one began to stream through your hair gently. You smiled up at Aemond softly, as your lips gently hovered over his.
“But don’t you ever run off like that again, without me knowing, unless you want the whole Kingsguard to seize the city until we find you.”

I was researching stones that could be in Magi, and the hardest one for me was pink. I'm using Kougyoku here because she was one of the main characters I was thinking of. Chinese references were also the easiest and most consistent doing research on, so double the reason to use her!
My conclusion was rose quartz. In multiple cultures it symbolized things including love, self-love, harmony and compassion. The Chinese practice of Feng Shui, using elements and stones around the home and on oneself, has rose quartz as a symbol of love and relationships.
The main discrepancy for Kougyoku is that in Feng Shui, it's most common and beneficial to wear it over the heart. Kougyoku wears her metal vessel in her hair. So that is interesting. She does have them in a pair though, which is common for the pink gemstone.
(Researching I found the location in the household to have more emphasis than how it is worn in jewelry. That was not my focus but I thought to bring it up. With rose quartz, the location is in the bedroom, in the southwest.)
Associative elements vary across cultures from the little research I've done. I found rose quartz linked to heart chakra and use for balance. Water is one element linked to it, which checks out for Kougyoku. For Feng Shui specifically, it is more so connected to earth. (I didn't find anything saying it directly was linked, but earth is the element I saw with other parts the same way rose quartz was- love and relationships, and also in the southwest).
A subset of rose quartz is pink quartz. It is a crystalized form of rose quartz and a much rarer variety. Discovery of it is fairly recent and not something that would be around in the time periods Magi is based on. Nothing to say it's not a thing for the setting though, with the technology and knowledge varying from historically what's true on Earth. If anyone will have access to them, it will be the royal family.
I also have it the same for Sheba. She was originally the one I was looking up stones for but switched to Kougyoku. Again, Chinese stone meanings being slightly easier for me to look into. I think it works for both of them. They're both very compassionate, huge romantics, and have character arcs around self-love.
Anyway, that's about what I have. Just some tidbits I thought were fun to think about. I'm happy for any corrections or other ideas. Looking up sources online, most sites give the impression of selling spiritual practices more than teaching about it, so it was rough (or maybe I'm just bitter of so many popups for sales and newsletters).

Moose's Guide to Quick and Easy Gold
So I get the vibes in the community here that a bunch of people don't really know all the tips and tricks to making easy money, so I thought I'd do a writeup on some of the small ways I make gold in Guild wars 2
Trick 1: You have wealth you don't know about
An inportant thing about Gw2 is that a lot of the wealth it gives out isn't in actual gold but in materials that you can then sell for gold. For a lot of people I think its easy to just click 'deposit all materials' and then forget about it. For me personally I have only 100 gold in my wallet but If I were to empty out my material storage I'd gain an additional 300 or so gold. The site GW2 efficiency is really helpful for telling you what high value items you might be holding on to, though It takes a bit of setting up.
Trick 2: Sell Orders!
Admittedly this is something I'm bad about, but if you can delay your gratification, but when you sell something don't fulfill someone elses buy order and instead, set up a sell order. I'll give you up to 10% more gold out of everything you sell
Ok now onto the acutal wealth generation methods
Trick 3: Send your least favorite character to the New Kaineng Jumping Puzzle
Jumping Puzzles in EoD reward jade runestones from their final chest, which go for 80 silver on the trading post.
Find the wiki page to get you through the jumping puzzle here, though there are often commanders on the New Kaineng lfg offering teleport to friend transport to the end of the puzzle. Basically you get a character to the end chest and every reset log in on that character and get your free! runestone, almost a gold for ~30 seconds of work
(as a note you only get the runestone once per day per account so don't send multiple characters there)
Trick 4: Leivas Hands out Gold, make sure to collect it
Ok not actually but he may as well. So this guy who hangs out in Arborstone, once you've gotten the Globalization mastery, will sell you 5 antique summoning stones every week for a grand total of 10 green prophet shards, 10 unusual coins, 100 imperial favours, 7000 karma and 1 gold. The summoning stones can then be sold on for ~3 gold each, netting you a profit of 14 gold for going up to an npc and pressing 'f' (or whatever your interact key is)
Trick 5: fast and profitable metas you should be doing daily
Let me introduce you to my favorite wiki page:
the event timers list
This lists out every meta event and world boss that'll be happening soon and all of them will give you at least something, and the meta's from HoT onwards awards you a hero's choice chest that'll contain at least one of these valuable materials to choose from: amalgamated gemstone (60 silver), jade runestone (80 silver), ancient ambergris (1 gold 70 silver) or an antique summoning stone (3 gold). It should be noted the last 3 only appear in the EoD meta's, for all other times choose the amalgamated gemstone.
With that aside there are 3 events in particular that you should try to get done that'll take 10 minutes or less
first up is the Legendary Ley-Line Anomaly, the naked man. The timer's page tells you which zone it'll spawn in and when it does you have to seek it out and murder it. Mounts are very recommended because this thing dies fast. Anyway when you kill it, it drops 2 things: a mystic coin (1 gold 20 silver) and some vendor trash worth 50 silver, pretty gold for 5 minutes of work
next is Dragonstorm. It happens once every 2 hours starting from the eye of the north and affords you the opportunity to beat up Ryland. If you join the public option you join a crowd of up to 50 other people and its easy enough that you could even afk if you wanted (though that would be very rude). Anyway once you murder the champions and blast the dragons you get to watch them share a passionate kiss as the die and you then get 2 gold straight up, 6 memories of aurene (worth 1.5 gold in total) as well as a chance to win the lottery and get ascended weapons or, even rarer, the very expensive eye infusions
Finally is Tequatl the Sunless, a world boss in Sparkfly Fen that awards you 1 gold straight up as well as a chance at an ascended weapon as well as a bunch of materials and unidentified gear
speaking of which all the other events give unidentified gear too and they aren't actually terrible rewards, you can get a pretty penny from selling them.
Trick 6: Daily Rewards
Firstly, just logging in every day gives you a sadly decent amount of income, mostly in laurels and mystic coins. Coins can just be sold if you're after cold, laurels can be spent on a variety of stuff. And if you're looking to turn a profit, HERE are the best ways to do so.
Also, do your daily achievements people, sometimes they're a pain but the daily completionist gives 2 gold as well as 15 achievement points, more than most other achievements in the game. Also they drive you towards content you wouldn't do otherwise (the daily achievements are the reason why I've done most of the jumping puzzles). Also If you're bad at any of the dailies on offer, usually a bunch of other people are also trying to do dailies and they're often willing to help. I see mesmers porting people through the daily JPs all the time.
Trick 7: Spirit shards can be converted to Gold???
I admit, this isn't something I do myself but if you're accumulating spirit shards like I am there are methods to turn them into gold
They're listed HERE
(again, this isn't something I've tried myself, I can't vouch for how well it works and all the methods require a starting amount of gold. But if you're desperate it might be something to consider
But I want more Gold, how do I get it?
If your looking for serious gold farming there are probably better guides than this but here are a few pointers to start raking in the money
1: As far as I understand, Drizzlewood Coast is the most profitable activity in the game, gold per hour wise. Runs take a while and you kind of have to pay attention to maximise gains but, if gold's what you want this is a good option.
2: Look for meta trains, I notice them happening a lot around reset, basically its a group that goes from meta to meta doing them in sequence. There are a few guilds that do them every day so if you see a train, chances are its on at the same time every day. I find them to be pretty chill, offer some nice variety in content and offer good rewards as well.
3: Fractals. Yeah I know this is getting into endgame content but doing T4 fractal dailies every day gives you around 20 gold straight up, a bunch of materials worth even more gold and a decent chance at ascended armor and weapons (and so many ascended trinkets, seriously at this point they get auto-salvaged if they drop)
Apart from that, pretty much everything in this game gives you some amount of rewards, even if they aren't entirely obvious, so don't stress too much, provided you aren't roleplaying in the serrated blade or whatever (Though good on you for having fun!) you're likely earning some amount of income. Even if it's only in materials
#gw2#guild wars 2#gw2 gold farming#There are better guides scattered throughout the internet#searching up 'Gw2 best ways to make gold' will probably yield results#though make sure to choose recent results to avoid outdated guides#but dammit I wanted to write something down myself#so I did. Enjoy#If you have any other tricks feel free to let me know

Or maybe it's that he will try to sell scented candles. Or maybe it's that he's trying to sell scented candles.
It's hard to know if this is a plan for the future or a dream from the past.
He has Fragrant Flickers, but that site has never been registered. He claims that "if you want a candle in a coconut shell, or that contains flowers or gemstones as part of the candle, Fragrant Flicker is the brand for you."
He also has Whisper Wick, but it's only a front page from Square Space with stock photos.
Unsurprisingly, the candles are directed toward people trying to eliminate pet odors.

After long time of not really seeing my mother (her work, and my parents trips) I enter my parents house. My mom sees my nacklace - the one with wolves and raven skull - and goes "well, are you wearing this style?" And I go "well, yeah. I did it from upcycling two bracelets." And her reply just kinda shocked me since it was: "well, we make a lot of trips close to a historical reconstruction site of Vikings. They sell quite a lot of this style jewellery there. Maybe we can bring you some next time?" Me, looking quite astonished "Well, you don't have to. I would really appreciate it if you did but there is no need".
Me looking all the gemstone jewellery I am wearing in my head: they often have real minerals and gemstones on those sites. And if they decide to get something one day, that piece would be dedicated to Cernunnos. No other way around it.

this thing is - horrific
and the person we just bought a beautiful blue labradorite from sent us this as an "extra freebie" and we messaged them to ask what the hell it was (more politely than that) and they said "aura jasper tower" so we searched on that and literally nothing tells us what that is but three thousand sites want to sell us some and we don't know what to do with it
generally we really hate artificially faceted minerals anyway (unless they're gemstones) and this Thing is just
and like it's got an iridescent coating on it too and we're wondering if we can strip that off? but we still don't know what it really is and we hate it and we know they meant well? sigh

Extinction Curse Session 2023/09/20: The Hag's Heart
Warning: graphic violence!
Midori, Vavo, and Zookdar entered Opper Vandy's embalming room.
"This chamber has a strong odor of chemicals and decay. A long, brass table stands by the south wall, and at the foot of it, a stained iron grate is fixed in the floor near a pair of barrels and a bucket. The north wall holds a work table with a variety of unusual implements, including a large syringe with tubing attached to a glass tank filled with a cloudy fluid, and a large number of surgical instruments, some still showing bloodstains. The back wall of the chamber is covered in shelving that holds hundreds of urns of clay, stone, and metal as well blank nameplates in brass, and even a few gravestones that have yet to be inscribed with names of the deceased.
"This laboratory is where Vandy drains bodies and embalms them with a chemical mixture of alcohol, camphor, and myrrh. It is an imperfect process, but it preserves a body reasonably well for a few days if the weather isn’t too warm. Drained fluids are poured through the grate in the floor, which descends 6 feet to a gravel sump. Vandy regularly dumps chemicals down this drain, but it does little to forestall the stench of death that arises from within. The shelving at the rear of the lab holds unused urns and gravemarkers that he sells to clients. Cremations are performed off-site."
Vavo pointed toward the urns and gravely stated, "There. The night hag Skarja hid her heartstone in one of those urns."
"Why waste time searching? Let's smash them all!" Zookdar hefted his gnome flickmace and started bashing the urns to pieces. One urn made of lead simply toppled to its side, its lid still intact. "So far, nothing. It must be in that lead one!"
"You know, we could have just looked through them," Midori interjected, "There weren't that many, and those urns looked expensive!"
Zookdar shook off Midori's concerns. "This is too important. We have to stop the hag before she can claim any more victims!"
Vavo approached the lead urn and opened it with no small effort, causing a puff of ashes to billow out. "Let me see…aha!" Vavo pulled out and held aloft a silvery necklace with a heart-shaped pendant made from a clear gemstone. "The Hag's Heart! Midori, hold onto this. Put this in a safe place and tell nobody." He tossed the necklace to Midori, who tucked it away into one of her belt pouches.
Suddenly, the skies outside of the embalming room rumbled angrily. The party rushed outside to investigate.
"The air is split by a cloud of brimstone-laden steam, which parts to reveal a hideous hag with elephantine feet and a body covered in razor-sharp horns."
Midori smacked herself on the forehead. "Ah, shit! We touched her stuff an' pissed her off! Well, it's three on one. Let's get her!" She drew her rapier in preparation to fight.
Then, through the billowing steam, another figure emerged: an enormous black horse with flaming hooves. With every breath, it exhaled black smoke. It strode to Skarja's side and nuzzled her.
"Foolish mortals! That item belongs to me! Give to me my heartstone this moment, and I shall release the mortician to you." She extended her hand expectantly.
Vavo stepped forward, chest out, and struck the shaft of his beer-stein flail defiantly onto the ground. "Foul creature, we shall do no such thing! Your reign of terror ends tonight, for we are true and righteous heroes, and we shall defeat you and your hellish minion!"
Midori's eyes shifted from side to side. "Well, maybe some of us are righteous," she muttered.
"No deal?" Skarja was taken aback momentarily. "Oh, uh, that is only a minor setback. Yes! I shall slay you all and take my heartstone back from your cold, dead hands!" She swiftly mounted her pet nightmare and cackled intimidatingly.
Zookdar bellowed, "Then we fight!" He let out a war cry and dashed at the night hag. A swing of his flickmace connected with her, but did not appear to damage her much. A sweep of his flickmace at the nightmare missed the target.
Midori's attention was drawn to the nightmare as she desperately tried to recall any knowledge she could about the hellish beast. "Uhhh, fiery, smoky horse. Right. Well, EAT ROCKS!" She waved her left hand to telekinetically pull up some blunt stones from the ground, then fired the projectiles at the nightmare. They bounced off of the nightmare's nose, causing it to flinch, earning Midori a menacing glance. "Huh. Guess I better try somethin' else."
Skarja pointed a clawed finger at Zookdar. "Impudent fool! I summon the plagues of the abyss to vex thee!" The color ran out of Zookdar's face and he slumped somewhat, weakened. She slashed out twice at the gnome with her claws for good measure, bloodying his face.
The nightmare bit Zookdar and pounded him with its flaming hooves, knocking Zookdar to the ground.
Vavo shouted, "Zookdar!" He quickly called upon Cayden Cailean for the divine power to heal his injured companion, but Zookdar was still bloody.
Zookdar pulled himself to his feet with some effort and swung at the hag and the nightmare.
Midori lamented, "We never shoulda started this with only three of us! Hey, what if we start up a circus performance, and then send in the clowns! Yeah! Then the clowns can help us fight!"
"Midori!" Zookdar yelled, exasperated, "You're not helping! And it doesn't work that way!"
"Ugh, fine!" She raised her hand upward and her eyes glowed green. "Behold, the grand finale of your wickedness, Skarja! My words, sharp as daggers and swift as arrows, shall pierce the veil of your dark arts. Let the truth bite deeper than lies with my biting words!"
Skarja just looked at Midori and cackled. "Oh, child! Your powers are weak! Perhaps some more weakness would suit you…." She pointed at Midori, shooting a ray of cold light into her forehead. Midori felt her body grow feeble. "Now sleep, little one!" Skarja flicked her wrist and Midori felt a wave of exhaustion hit her, but she shook it off and remained alert.
"Hyaaah!" Skarja encouraged her nightmare to run over Zookdar in a straight line headed toward Vavo, who was unable to evade the trample. Zookdar grunted and collapsed into a heap on the ground. Vavo shrieked in pain from the hooves and caught on fire from the flames.
Vavo stumbled away from his foes and moved toward Zookdar, casting another healing spell his way. "What?" Vavo exclaimed as Zookdar remained still. "Midori, we're in over our heads, here! Zookdar's down!"
Not about to back down, Midori sustained her spell. "Skarja, you may lurk in shadows and deal in nightmares, but your malice is no match for my spirit. With these biting words, I strike at you, let my voice carry the weight of my resolve!" Skarja squawked from the power of the attack. Midori followed up with another telekinetic projectile attack on Skarja, eliciting a hiss of pain.
"You vex me, little one, but first I shall attend to the one with real power!" She turned the nightmare around toward Vavo and readied a strike with her claws. As rider and steed bore down on the halfling cleric, hooves and claws struck true with sickening squelches. Skarja turned toward Midori. "Now it's your turn to die!"
With the last bit of her spell's power, Midori spat out, "Skarja, you may think you're a night terror, but I am the dream you fear! Your malevolence is no match for my melody. With a voice that cuts deeper than the sharpest blade, I unleash upon you the power of my biting words!" Skarja reeled from the hit. Midori let loose more projectiles but completely missed her target.
Skarja wiped her face with her hand. "Little fox. I just realized something. YOU are the one holding my heartstone." She twisted her hands up into the air. "Heart of hearts, bring forth a shadow blast!"
From Midori's pouch where she was hiding the heartstone, a glowing, sickly red light emanated followed by a destructive blast of shadows, lightning, and ice slamming into her body. She screeched with pain as every muscle in her body contracted at once. She almost fell to the ground, but was able to catch herself by using her rapier like a cane, barely holding on to her consciousness. Midori looked up at Skarja in combined fury and defiance. "Still standing, bitch!"
"Not for long." Skarja's face twisted into a cruel, vicious grin. "Crush her!" The nightmare strode forward to trample Midori.
Midori's vision blurred and her eyes flickered shut briefly, opening to see the nightmare drawing closer as if in slow motion. The red light from her pouch illuminated the nighttime scene with surreal highlights and shadows. Once the nightmare's hooves landed upon her, pounding her into the ground with jarring crunches, Midori felt the most intense pain that she had ever felt in her life. She felt the urge to scream but found her throat too full of liquid to make a sound. Before she could process what was happening, the pain stopped, much to her surprise.
Midori thought to roll to the left and jump to her feet, but she quickly realized that she was completely immobilized. Her feet would not respond. Nor her legs. Nor her arms. She could not even turn her head to look for Skarja. Her urge to gasp for air yielded to the inability to move her lungs.
Midori's eyes flickered shut once more. Fractions of seconds became minutes to her.
In her mind's eye, she saw a vision of her parents. "Okaeri nasai, Mido-chan <Welcome back, Mido-chan>," they replied together.
"Tadaima <I'm home>," Midori replied, reflexively. She saw visions of Toby and Myron appear as well. "I'm…dead." They all looked at her with sorrow.
"Wait, where are my siblings? Are they not with you?"
The visions reached out to embrace Midori. She reciprocated, but a wall of force prevented them from touching.
Midori felt something tug at her soul, pulling her farther and farther from her loved ones. "No, wait!"
Midori's eyes opened once more to see Skarja's hideous face grinning down at her, illuminated more brightly by the increasing glow of the heartstone that Skarja had just liberated from its hiding place. "Ah, young fox, how your light fades. Gaze upon me and despair. Your life force ebbs like the tide. Your dawn will never come. This is the fate of all who dare stand against the night."
Midori's eyes closed.

Do you have a favorite gemstone? Or if favorite is too hard, one that comes to mind first that you love?
I don't know if I have a favorite to be honest. The first that came to mind is rose quartz, because when I was around 16 and getting more into astrology, a site told me it was my birth stone. (Now I know birthstones are bogus and just a way to sell you more gems, but still, rose quartz stuck with me).
And look! It's in your name now. Plus, it's pink, so it's you.
#i believe it was also the first pendulum that i actively used but don't @ me on that#but i also like obsidian and tiger's eye and labradorite a lot#and i'm always giving eyes at the pretty blue ones#i just love looking at gemstones and needing to restrain myself not to grab them#what's yours?#answered#shi#roseqrtzrabbit

London Calling: The Cheapside Hoard On View for the First Time
The Cheapside Hoard, as it’s known, hasn’t been seen in public since 1914, is now in an exhibition at The Museum of London.

As a child growing up enamored of history, my earliest fantasy was what it would be like to find undiscovered treasure. When I was thirteen, living in the Roman city of Bath, my dream came true. My mother had passed a construction site in town and got me a Saturday job helping out on a dig run by the local museum. Every time anything is torn down in the city center of my hometown, archaeologists are given a grace period to investigate what lies beneath the foundations before the next building is thrown up. After six blissful weeks scraping away with a trowel—in what the chief archaeologist told us was a cesspit, an unglamorous rubbish dump, in other words—I turned up an oval object no bigger than half my little fingernail. My teenage scream sent everyone running. It was an amber Romano-British jewel engraved with a figure of a goddess, thrown in there, or lost, by someone who passed the spot sometime between 60 and 70 AD, perhaps on the way to the thermal spa just down the road. Hardly the most important discovery ever unearthed in my part of the world, but my own.
Well, that’s nothing compared with the mesmerizing discovery made one day in 1912 when a gang of construction workers was demolishing a building in Cheapside, in the City of London. Digging in the cellar, they came upon the biggest cache of Elizabethan and Jacobean jewelery ever found: nearly five hundred magnificent pieces made of diamond, pearl, and rubies; rings, drop earrings in the shape of bunches of grapes, multiple strings of filigree flowers, ornaments fashioned as huge bows, an exquisite gold and enamel perfume bottle, and a tiny fob-watch set in a solid geometric casing of bevelled emeralds. The men celebrated by setting off to sell their finds to a pawnbroker. Luckily, an aristocrat, Lord Harcourt, heard of it, intervened, and ordered the treasure to be bought for the nation.
The Cheapside Hoard, as it’s known, hasn’t been seen in public since 1914, is now in an exhibition at The Museum of London. No one knows who owned the treasure—but historians believe the stash is so large it must have belonged to one of the jewelers in the area, who buried it some time after the Great Fire of London, and was perhaps left to fight and die in the English Civil War, or fled the country never to return. Visitors are asked to leave bags and coats at the door before picking up magnifying glasses to marvel in close-up at wonders magically arrayed amongst portraits illustrating how Elizabethan ladies and Jacobean grandees liked to bedeck themselves. For connoisseurs and history geeks, it’s a visual feast—and one I’d bet will be serving as inspiration for many a designer. As for me? All the teenage thrill of my buried memory from Bath came flooding back, for a minute.

Cleaning and Repairing: Preparing Your Ring for Sale to Maximize Appeal
So, you’ve decided to sell your engagement ring. Maybe you and your partner decided to split, or you are now earning more and looking to upgrade to a better ring, no matter what the reason is selling your ring can be a tricky process and a lot goes into it.
Right from finding the right jewelry store in Sugar Land to looking for ways to sell your ring to understanding the entire process, here are some secrets to help you sell your ring like a pro.
Secrets to selling your engagement ring
When it comes to selling your engagement ring, there are a couple of ways you can do this. You can take your ring to a professional jewelry store in Katy, TX where they will appraise it and let you know how much it’s worth. However, you will need to take the price that they offer you.
Another option is to sell it online on platforms like eBay or other wedding ring auction sites and whatever you get for your ring you will have to accept that price. This, however, may not be the value close to what you desire.
You can also sell it directly to a coworker or a consumer that’s looking to invest in an engagement ring and in such cases, you get to quote your price.
However, keep in mind that you will need to understand the ins and outs of your diamond ring if you need to explain to a consumer why they should buy it from you. It’s advised to always research your ring and find out more about the cut, clarity, gemstone, and carat size along with getting it insured and appraised.
Also, check online how many rings similar to yours are going for sale so that you don’t end up selling your ring for less. Make sure that the price you are giving your consumer is a far better offer than one they can get online or at their local jewelry store in Needville.
Lastly, you need to understand that an engagement ring is highly special and sentimental and you need to be sure that you are ready to sell it. If you aren’t ready to give it away, a good idea would be to melt down the ring and create something unique so that you have that special memory in mind.
Final Word
Selling your ring directly to a customer may take a lot of time however you are getting the price that you desire. While a jewelry store or an online portal might sell your ring faster you will have to take the price that they offer you. It all comes down to your choice.

How to Find the Right Jewels at Lower Prices in Pawn Shops
A jewelry shopping spree could be exciting, particularly during the quest for exclusive yet reasonably-priced items. Many times, pawn shops go unnoticed as real treasure hubs of high-quality jewels at a fraction of the retail price. Then again, how you move around these stores and make wise purchases is what matters in scoring the best deals. In this guide, we’re going to take you through the basics of finding the right jewels at better prices in pawnshops.
Understanding the Appeal of Pawnshop Jewelry
These pawn shops in Jacksonville, FL, however, can get especially dense with jewelry. What really pleases these stores is the potential for finding vintage, designer, and even unique pieces that would not be carried in a normal retail jewelry store. Since they are buying and selling on the move, pawn shops sell jewelry at prices that are usually way below the market value.
Do Your Homework Before You Start Shopping
You should not head into any pawn shop unprepared. Look up what types of jewelry you might be interested in and learn about their market values. Take some time to get educated on common materials, gemstones, and hallmark stamps that denote authenticity. This knowledge will arm you in such a way that you will not only be able to make informed decisions but also know if you really are getting a good deal for yourself.
Sites that provide current market values for gold, diamonds, and other precious materials can be very useful. Knowing a little about what certain vintage or antique pieces are worth historically can help you determine if you’re really getting a good deal.
How to Spot Quality
Perhaps more than anywhere else, the idea of “you get what you pay for” applies when shopping for jewelry in a pawn shop in Jacksonville, FL. Here are a few tips for how to know what to look for:
Inspect the metal:
If it’s gold, it needs to have karat stamps, 14K or 18K, which indicate the pure gold content. On silver items, sterling or 925 will be stamped.
Check the stones:
One would want to notice the setting and presence of chips, cracks, or any wear on stones with diamonds and other gemstones. For a closer analysis, check as much as possible with a jeweler’s loupe.
Assess the Workmanship:
High-quality jewelry must have a good setting for the stone, and the stone should be held tightly by the prongs. The clasps and fasteners should also be good.
Don’t be Afraid to Ask Questions
Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Staff in most pawnshops are familiar with their merchandise. Find out as much as possible about the piece, its history, who has owned it before, and whether it has ever been appraised. Knowing its background will help you understand better the value of the jewelry and hence negotiate for a better price.
Negotiate Like a Pro
One of the great advantages of shopping in a pawnshop is the ability to dicker over prices. Since most traditional retail stores do not allow for haggling in pawn shops, it is actually expected, so do not be afraid to do so. Use your homework to your advantage and make a reasonable offer, considering the current market price and the condition of the item. After all, the shop owner probably paid less for it than what he is selling it for, so there can be wiggle room regarding price.
Think Investment Value
Jewelry can prove to be a very good investment, and buying from a pawn shop can improve your ROI. Look for those pieces that are timeless but tend to appreciate in value, such as gold bands, diamond solitaires, or vintage designer pieces. These pieces would likely increase in value over time, especially if the price is lower at the outset.
Check Return Policy
Before you finalize your purchase, ask about the pawn shop’s return policy. While most pawn shops don’t refund money or exchange items, some may have a window of time in which you’d be able to return an item if it proved different from what was described. Knowing the return policy helps to get you added protection and peace of mind.
Check out Multiple Pawn Shops
Visit a number of pawn shops in your area to fully engage in the exercise. Each shop has its own inventory, and what you do not find in one place, you will find in another. The more shops you visit, the likelier it is that you will find that special piece that either resonates with you or fits your pocket.
Use Your Instincts
Instinct sometimes outweighs knowledge in finding the right jewel. If a piece catches your eye and feels right, do not hesitate. Jewelry shopping is very personal. Your instincts can truly guide you to pieces you will love and cherish for years to come.
Conclusion: Why Shop at Hemming Jewelers?
Regarding exquisite jewelry pawn shops in Jacksonville, FL, Hemming Jewelers is a name consumers trust implicitly. Importance of Quality Images for Only Jewelry Sale
Photos are very important especially when selling jewelry online, on social platforms, or even in the paper catalogs. Jewelry is an accessory that the target customer buys with more than economic purposes since the main emotion that it elicits is that of beauty.
Such aspects involve the quality aspect where images have significant impacts on the potential customers’ decision-making process. This is why quality images are very essential when it comes to sales of jewelry. In this blog, we’ll talk about the importance of quality product image for jewelry businesses. If you need help with product image retouching, and editing, search Jewelry photo retouching services near me, and choose to connect with Global Photo Edit.
Showcasing the Intricate Details
Another significant aspect of jewelry refers to its embellishments including engravings, gems, and metals. High-quality images, therefore, help you capture and display such details for the customer to see and marvel at the workmanship.
A fine-grained, focused image provides the ability to see any detail on the surface of the gemstone, any carving or detailing, and the subtleties of the metalwork. Such detailed depiction is crucial to persuade a customer on the value and appeal of the piece in consideration.
Building Trust with Customers
The concept of trust is a vital aspect especially when it comes to buying jewelry and particularly exquisite brands. People reading these descriptions, the customers in particular, would wish to be informed that what was advertised is what they are going to get. Such trust is fostered by quality images that depict the product as it is.
Low-quality images, which are either blurred, not well illuminated, or do not highlight the details can make the jewelry seem low quality, or fake. On the other hand, sharp, clear, and bright images with truthful colors and lines give the customer confidence in their purchase.
Enhancing Perceived Values
This means that the manner in which jewelry is displayed is an essential factor that dictates the perceived value of the product. This is why having high-quality photos of the jewelries enhances the perceived value, therefore justifying the higher prices.
When professionally done and from the right sources, lighting, good backgrounds, and post-processing can enhance the appearance of the product to seem more luxurious. This perception of luxury is important for the jewelry market, with reliance on such factors as emotions and status when making a purchase. Search for a jewelry product photo editing company near me, and contact Global Photo Edit to know more.
Influencing Buying Decisions
The buying of jewelry is usually initiated through the appeal of the emotions of the buyer. The public is willing to find something they want, whether it has to be for their own use, someone special, or the way they want to express themselves.
Standard pictures that depict the beauty of a certain item convey the emotions required, making the customers make the purchase. Well-lit images that depict the jewelry from different sides, in different lighting conditions, on a person’s hand helps users envision themselves wearing the jewelry hence buying.
Reducing Returns and Customer Dissatisfaction
Incorrect or low quality images cause dissatisfaction because the customer expects to receive a product that is as shown in the image. This can lead to returns, which are not only expensive but can also harm the brand image.
This ensures that the customers do not leave the site disappointed because the images provided were not as appealing or accurate as the actual jewelry. This also helps in reducing return rates and boosting customer satisfaction and loyalty in the process.
Improving Online Presence and Marketing
The growing importance of the internet means that having an online presence is paramount for any business, especially those in the jewelry industry. The clear and appropriate images are important for making a good website and publication, interesting and eye-catching posts for the social media accounts, and effective web advertisement.
These images can be used on various mediums to effectively market your products and get more people visiting your site and buying from you. Also, beautiful pictures will attract more shares on social media platforms hence exposing your brand to more users.
Differentiating Your Brand
The jewelry industry is saturated, and there are many brands that target the same consumers. High-quality images can serve to create a perception of uniqueness providing the customer with a reason to choose your brand over the others.
This way, consumers consistently receive and perceive your jewelry in a professional and eye-catching manner, giving your brand personality a perfect fit with your audience’s expectations. These differences are strategic in drawing a loyal customer niche as well as being unique among the many players in the market.
Supporting Professionalism and Credibility
The quality of images used defines the credibility of the brand and the professionalism of your company. One of the worst things that one can do is to produce low-quality images of your brand because that is what may be perceived by prospective buyers.
On the other hand, high-quality images take people seriously and guarantee that your business is a credible one that cares about quality and detail. This professionalism can result in improvement in customer confidence and hence better sales.
Conclusion
In the jewelry business, where image, beauty, passion and attachment are core values, quality images are not an extra; they are critical. They are important in presenting the detailed features of each work, gaining credibility, raising the perceived value of the products, guiding the purchase decisions, minimizing returns, improving web presence, creating a unique brand image and professionalism.
High-quality product photography is mandatory for any jewelry line that wants to be successful in today’s environment. In essence, the right choice of product images speaks to the customers and entices them to make the purchase.
